Webb Rallies Behind New Volleyball Coach

A new face will be seen at Webb this coming semester with the addition of a new volleyball coach. Unfortunately, former Coach, Matt Werner, had to step down from his position because of increased responsibly with distance learning classes. Coach Werner brought Webb to the HVMAC Championships last year, and we are all hoping for another successful year.

Long Island native, Dan Swayne, is sure to prove to be a worthy replacement. He is “looking forward to having a fun and successful season” with the Webbies. Swayne has coached and played volleyball for eight years, working with students of all ages. “This is my first experience working with college-aged students and I am excited for the level of competition that comes with that,” he said.

Swayne received bachelor and master degrees from Binghamton University, studying psychology and geology as an undergraduate and secondary science education in his graduate career. He is currently working as a permanent substitute in Massapequa Public Schools.
