This year’s Family Weekend has been reimagined as a virtual event and is scheduled for this Columbus Day Weekend (Oct 9-11)!

- – Overview of Webb’s Introduction to Naval Architecture Course and Boat Building Project with Professor Bradley Golden ’99
- – Introduction to Webb’s Winter Work Term & Student Winter Work Presentations
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11TH
9:45 AM (ET): Live Stream of Freshman Boat Race via Facebook Live
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM (ET): Live Tour of Webb’s new Couch Academic Center
1:00 PM – 1:30 PM (ET): History of William Webb

About the Freshman Boat Competition:
Each year, Family Weekend concludes with the Freshman Boatbuilding Competition. Each team of students is required to design and construct a boat, then work together to compete in an exciting race around moored buoys off the Webb Beach.
The teams will compete in the race on Sunday, October 11th at the Webb Beach. The performance on this project will be evaluated and will count toward the student’s grade in the Introduction to Naval Architecture course. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s race will be streamed live through Webb’s Facebook.
