Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding (HEERF)

HEERF I

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) includes the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). Under Section 18004(a)(1) of the Act, Webb Institute was allocated $41,119 of HEERF I funds. $20,560 shall be awarded to eligible students in the form of grants for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, and the remaining funds are available to Webb Institute to offset costs incurred due to COVID-19.

HEERF II

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) is authorized by the federal government’s Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) signed into law on December 27, 2020. This legislation provides additional funding to institutions of higher learning to support students and campus operations impacted by COVID-19. Webb Institute was allocated $48,367 of HEERF II funds. $20,560 shall be awarded to eligible students in the form of grants for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, and the remaining funds are available to Webb Institute to offset costs incurred due to COVID-19.

HEERF III

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF III) is authorized by the federal government’s American Rescue Plan (ARP) signed into law on March 11, 2021. Webb Institute was allocated $88,362 of HEERF III funds. $44,181 shall be awarded to eligible students in the form of grants for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, and the remaining funds are available to Webb Institute to offset costs incurred due to COVID-19.

HEERF – FIPSE

Under Section 18004(a)(3) of the CARES Act, Webb Institute was allocated $458,881 of Funds for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) funds. Webb Institute used the funds to defray a portion of its expenses due to lost revenue (room & board rebates) and offsite quarantining of students.
