New Culinary Food Service at Webb


After extensive research done by Culinary Director Peggy Michel with assistance from Josie Wilson, Gailmarie Sujecki and Shanna Hamilton, we selected the food services company Flik to prepare meals at Webb.  Over the summer extensive repairs and updates have been made to the kitchen and dry good closet.  Additional updates will be made in the student cafeteria during the fall semester, including a new salad bar, beverage bar, and food serving station.

The class of 2019, administration, staff, and faculty had a special preview of the new menu during orientation week. Students had their choice of coconut, chocolate chip, or confetti pancakes for breakfast and the lunch combinations are endless, with fresh vegetarian options available. In addition to the unlimited coffee which Webb students are known to inhale in copious quantities, there is iced coffee, freshly brewed iced tea, and fruit water available at all times.

The Flik staff are eager to begin their first semester at Webb.  Chef Manager Joseph Tirado leads the team.  Returning members from the previous kitchen staff are Saveria Tornicchio, Emma Bonilla, Brian Jecklin, Matt Giunta, and Michael Valensisi.  Please be sure to welcome them back and introduce yourself to the new staff.

Meet Your New Chef Manager – Chef Joseph Tirado

Joseph Tirado has been a chef with FLIK Independent School Dining for over five years. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and has lived in all five boroughs of New York City. Joseph has been cooking since the age of seven and is a self-taught chef. Joseph is of Puerto Rican decent and specializes in ethnic cuisine from various parts of the world. Joseph dreams of competing on a Food Network competition show.
